Pipeline Fiscal Allocation
Hydrocarbon pipeline allocation analysis and testing services.
Oil and Gas field operators share common pipeline infrastructure to enjoy cost savings and other benefits, resulting in a number of local production, transportation and processing pipeline infrastructures around the world which are shared by pools of different owners.
Shared pipelines and other facilitates result in the hydrocarbons from the different fields being mixed and co-mingled as they pass through the system. Allocating the marketable products that are exported from the system ensures owners receive financial value for the products which is proportional to the value and quantity of hydrocarbons they put into the system.
Intertek supports these shared pipeline customers on a global basis, providing comprehensive programs for allocation sampling and analysis for major oil and gas producers
Pipeline allocation services are based on client specific requirements:
- Determination of Fiscal Water Content
- Determination of Hydrocarbon Composition (N2, CO2, C1 to Cn, n – final carbon no designated by client)
- Single stage flash separation of pressurised Crude Oils and Condensates for determination of Gas to Oil Ratio and recombined composition.
- Determination of True product worth by Fractional distillation or simulated distillation
- Validation of both hydrocarbon ratios and composition using NIR and Advanced Chemometrics
- Sampling
- Sample Cylinder Management
- Other factors associated with allocation.
Intertek provide Pipeline Allocation analysis at wellstreams and platforms, depending on the ultimate client’s specific requirements.
