Validate the security of your latest Connected Product
The Internet of Things (IoT) is more than just a buzzword, it is the future. Everything from common consumer electronics, to medical devices, industrial machinery, even vehicles are connecting to other objects, constantly communicating and sharing data. The question is, how can you be sure your product is best positioned for security?
With an emphasis in Total Quality Assurance, Intertek is committed to working with you to understand your product, its use cases, how it integrates with other systems and products, and developing a roadmap to securing your product. Together with our experts at Acumen Security and EWA-Canada, we guide you through the most relevant program so that you may have confidence in your product.
ANSI/UL 2900 is a series of standards providing measurable criteria for the testing of network-connected (interconnected) devices sending, storing, or transmitting data to and from other network-enabled devices, to mitigate potential security vulnerabilities and exploits. UL 2900 can be a significant undertaking for an organization, therefore we’ve built services that assists you no matter where you are on your security journey.
The IoT ecosystem can be complicated to navigate, particularly in developing a secure product, or where that product interfaces with other, potentially unsecured products and devices. Therefore, we’ve worked out programs that can assist in exploring the vulnerabilities of your product, without the full commitment of a full-fledged certification program.
Not sure where to start? Intertek’s advisory services can help. Together, we’ll work to understand your product, primary security concerns, and develop a roadmap to any number of IoT evaluations such as UL 2900, IEC 62443, or certifying to FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria.
The initial gap analysis provides you with the basis for a successful certification effort. This assessment will identify the degree to which your product currently satisfies both the functional security requirements and supporting risk-based security design and implementation decisions recorded in documentation as required by the ANSI/UL 2900 or IEC 62443 standards. The outcome of the gap analysis will be a set of recommendations for closing the gaps should you decide to proceed with certification of the product.
