Intertek Thailand Presents Toy Regulations Update to Thai Toy Industry Association

As the expert in quality and safety programs in the toy industry, Intertek Thailand was invited by the Thai Toy Industry Association to deliver an update about toy regulations during the association’s annual general meeting on July 28 at the Anoma Hotel.

Mr. Chonnawat Kapillakarn, Assistant Manager, Toys & Hardlines, presented the update on toy regulations including ASTM, EN71 and TIS 685 to about 50 members attending the annual general meeting. His presentation focused on the revised regulations, which are crucial to the toy manufacturers.

Apart from the toy regulations, he also covered the testing method for water gun products, a research and development project co-organized between Intertek Thailand and Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI). The water gun testing will become a mandatory requirement in the new version of TIS 685 around the middle of 2011.
