Intertek Thailand Participates in World Accreditation Day

Intertek Thailand participated in the third annual World Accreditation Day, held this year on June 9 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC). World Accreditation Day celebrates the importance of accreditation and encourages cooperation between accreditation bodies worldwide. First observed in 2008, it is an initiative of the International Accreditation Forum and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation following the emergence of trade liberalization and increasing competition in global markets. The theme of this year’s activities was Global Acceptance, to promote the objective of establishing a global network of accreditation organizations in more than 60 countries.

 

In Thailand, this event was co-organized by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute, the Department of Medical Sciences, the Department of Science Service and The National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards. The event featured seminars presented by representatives from government bodies and private companies, as well as exhibition booths from various laboratories and certified bodies.

Nearly 500 people participated in World Accreditation Day from various industries, including electrical and electronic, automotive, food, agriculture, petrochemical, toy, cosmetics and textile. The event presented the opportunity for all divisions of Intertek – Consumer Goods, Oil, Chemical & Agri, Commercial & Electrical and Industrial Services – to present our capabilities and solutions to prospective customers.
