MOU Signing Ceremony in Cooperation of Halal Standard Development - Between the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT) and Intertek Thailand

The official ceremony was held on 9 March 2010 at the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand. The aim of this ceremony is to announce to the public the starting point of “Halal Development and Product Testing Center”. The MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed by H.E. Pichate Satirachaval; Director General of Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, Mr. Robert Lai; Country Manager of Intertek Testing Services (Thailand) Ltd and Mr. Pitak Supanankarn; Regional Director of Intertek - Food Services Asia Pacific. 

This center is a collaborative project between CICOT and Intertek Thailand to support the Halal business in Thailand while providing testing, certification, inspection and auditing services. The center will help Halal manufacturers in developing products and processes to comply with Thai Halal Standard (THS 24000).
