Hong Kong's First LED Testing Center Opening Ceremony

Hong Kong's first full LED Testing Center Grand Opening Ceremony was held on 15 March 2010. Ms. Janet Wong, JP, Commissioner of Innovation and Technology Commission, a strong supporter of Hong Kong's testing and certification industry, was invited to host the opening ceremony.

A number of guests representing the LED industry, environmental organizations and lighting brands gathered at Intertek to witness the testing center's grand opening. Attendees included Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Consumer Council, Hong Kong Electrical Industry Association, ASTRI, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Philips and Megaman.

During the ceremony, Intertek showcased Hong Kong’s very first Mirror Style Type C Goniophotometer. The industry representatives showed great interest and were extremely impressed by the sophistication of the testing center. Intertek Hong Kong also announced the official operation of the Mirror Style Type C Goniophotometer to be fully used for the LED industry.

The 2010 Grand Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong's First LED Testing Center hosted by Intertek signifies a new generation for Asia Pacific's testing and certification industry. It further strengthens the relationship between the Asia Pacific testing and certification industry while providing a sufficient means in supporting the emerging LED industry.
