Regulation

In 2007, CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved an airborne toxic control measure (ATCM) to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. The regulation has been codified into Title 17 of the California Code of Regulations in April 2008. The first emission standards were implemented on 1 January 2009. The global impact of ATCM regulation influences all composite wood products. From the effective date of regulation, all composite wood products and finished goods that contain composite wood products that are sold, offered for sale, supplied, used, or manufactured for sale in California should comply with requirements from this regulation. Products that do not comply will be recalled or subject to punitive actions.

  • Particleboard
  •  Finished products that contain the above woods
