On Feb. 17, 2013, the Standardization Administration Committee of the People’s Republic of China released a new set of Chinese national standards, including four national standards regarding determination methods of harmful substances in textile dyeing and finishing. Intertek technical experts initiated and drafted these four new national standards, went into effect Sept. 1, 2013:
These standards represent the first to be issued regarding restricted harmful substances analysis on textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries in the Chinese standard system, and provide manufacturers/retailers more effective measure to control harmful substances from the raw material stage.
Intertek is a standing member of Subcommittee 1 on Textile Auxiliaries of National Technical Committee 134 on dyestuffs of Standardization Administration in China, which works to develop methods for producing environmentally friendly apparel and textiles.
