Results of China Market Textile and Footwear Spot Checks in November 2017

Bedding Articles
In November, the Zhejiang QTS, Anhui OTS and Shanxi AIC announced the results of special product quality supervision for bedding articles.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles-Identification of fiber content;” GB/T 22796-2009 “Quilts and quilt cover,” GB/T 22797-2009 “Sheet,” GB/T 22843-2009 “Cushion and pillow” and GB/T 22844-2009 “Matched bedding.”
As a result, the Zhejiang QTS checked 30 batches, the Anhui OTS checked 24 and 9 batches, and found no failures. The Shanxi AIC checked 60 batches and found 10 failures, resulting in a failure rate of 16.7%.
Primary failed items: Dimensional stability to washing, fiber content, tensile strength, use instruction and colorfastness to wet rubbing
Children’s Wear
In November, the Zhejiang OTS, Guangdong QTS, Tianjin MSA (Market and Quality supervision Administration), Anhui QTS and Shanxi AIC announced the results of the special product quality supervision for children’s wear.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” and GB 31701-2015 “Safety Technical Code for Infants and Children Textile Products.”
As a result, the Tianjin MSA checked 17 batches of products and the Anhui QTS checked 13 batches and found no failures. The Zhejiang OTS checked 40 batches of products and found 3 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 7.5%. The Guangdong QTS checked 28 batches online and found that 6 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 21.4%. The Shanxi AIC checked 120 batches and found that 35 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 29.2%.
Primary failed items: Fiber content, colorfastness, pH value, label and cords and drawstrings
Footwear
In November, the Shanghai AIC, Shenzhen MSA and Shanxi AIC announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for footwear products.
This spot check was conducted according to “Product Quality Law,” GB 20400-2006 “Leather and fur-Limit of harmful matter,” GB/T 15107-2013 “Athletic footwear,” GB/T 22756-2008 “Leather sandals,” QB/T 1002-2015 “Leather shoes” and QB/T 2955-2008 “Casual shoes.”
As a result, the Shanghai AIC checked 50 batches of shoes online, and found that 16 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 32%. The Shenzhen MSA checked 60 batches footwear and found that 32 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 53.3%. The Shanxi AIC checked 61 batches of leather shoes and 60 batches of casual shoes and found that 10 batches and 9 batches failed, resulting in failure rates of 16.4% and 15%.
Primary failed items: Label, abrasion resistance, colorfastness to rubbing, shanks, whole shoes flexing, Azo dyes, delamination resistance and formaldehyde content
Textiles and Apparel
In November, the Shanghai AIC, Tianjin MSA, Shenzhen MSA, Guizhou QTS and Shanxi AIC announced the results of a special product quality supervision and inspection for textiles and apparel.
The spot checks were conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles-Identification of fiber content;” FZ/T 73032-2009 “Knitted jeanswear,” FZ/T 81006-2007 “Jeanswear,” GB/T 18132-2008 “Silk garments,” FZ/T 25385-2011 “Knitting patchwork clothing,” FZ/T 81007-2012 “Casual wear,” FZ/T 81010-2009 “Trench coats,” GB/T 22849-2014 “Knitted T-shirt” and FZ/T 73020-2012” Knitted casual wear.”
As a result, the Shenzhen MSA checked 40 batches of swimwear and the Guizhou QTS checked 3 batches of products and found no failures.
The Shanghai AIC checked 83 batches online and 22 of them failed, resulting in a failure rate of 26.5%. The Shanxi AIC checked 192 batches of garments and found that 39 failed, resulting in a failure rate of 20.3%.
The Tianjin MSA checked 10 batches of jeans and found no failures, while 2 batches of 16 casual wear failed, 1 batch of 12 knitted T-shirts failed. In addition, it also announced the third market quality supervision result, where 1 batch out of 61 batches of garments failed.
Primary failed items: Fiber content, colorfastness to rubbing, label, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, pH value, Azo dyes and pilling
Bags
In November, the Shanghai AIC, Shenzhen MSA and Shanxi AIC announced the results of special product quality supervision and inspection for bags.
The Shanghai AIC checked 50 batches online and found that 28 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 56%. The Shenzhen MSA checked 25 batches and found that 17 batches failed, resulting in a failure rate of 68%. The Shanxi AIC checked 68 batched and found that 27 failed, resulting in a failure rate of 39.7%.
Primary failed items: Shock impact strength, label, seam strength and colorfastness to rubbing
