Results of China Market Textile and Footwear Spot Checks in June 2015

Children’s and Infant Apparel
The Guangzhou Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for children’s and infant apparel. The spot check inspected 74 batches of samples; 21 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest – Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were label, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to rubbing, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to saliva, seam strength and extractable heavy metals.
Primary failed items: formaldehyde, fiber content and pH value.
Cotton Wadded Clothes
The Anhui Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for cotton wadded clothes. The spot check inspected 15 batches of samples; No batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 2662-2008 “Cotton wadded clothes” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry cleaning, AZO, fiber content, formaldehyde and pH value.
Knitted Thermal Underwear
The Anhui Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for knitted thermal underwear. The spot check inspected 10 batches of samples; no batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 8878 “Cotton Knitted Underwear,” FZ/T 73022 “Knitted thermal underwear,” FZ/T 73016 “Knitted Thermal Underwear-Wadding Category” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to dry rubbing, bursting strength and thermal resistance.
Apparel
The Guizhou Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for garments. The spot check inspected 5 batches of samples; 2 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 2666-2009 “Trousers,” GB/T 2660-2008 “Shirts and Blouses,” FZ/T 81007-2012 “Casual Wear,” GB/T 22854-2009 “Knitted School Uniform” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, colorfastness to dry cleaning, colorfastness to washing, formaldehyde, pH value, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to light and AZO.
Primary failed items: fiber content and colorfastness to light.
Children’s Apparel
The Jilin Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for children’s garments. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; 13 batches were found unqualified.
Primary failed items: fiber content, pH value and colorfastness to dry rubbing.
Fabric, Apparel and Bedding
The Shaoxing Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for fabric, apparel and bedding.
