Women’s Undergarments
The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for women’s undergarments. The spot check inspected 50 batches of samples; 7 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to GB 5296.4-2012 “Instructions for use of products of consumer interest – Part 4: Textiles and apparel,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products,” GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles –Identification of fiber content,” FZ/T 73011-2004 “Knitted Binder,” FZ/T 73012-2008 “Brassiere,” FZ/T 73019.1-2010 “Knitted Constrictive In-Wear Elastic-Style,” FZ/T 73019.2-2013 “Knitted Constrictive In-Wear Elastic-Style” and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing and stretch & recovery.
Primary failed items: fiber content.

Cashmere Sweaters
The Huzhou Consumers' Rights Protection Committee launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for cashmere sweaters. The spot check inspected 10 batches of samples; 3 batches were found unqualified.
This comparative test was conducted according to GB/T 29862-2013 “Textiles –Identification of fiber content,” GB 18401-2010 “National general safety technical code for textile products” and FZ/T 73009-2009 “Cashmere Knitting Goods”. The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde and pilling.
Primary failed items: fiber content.
Leather Bags
The Guangzhou Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for leather bags. The spot check inspected 137 batches of samples; 41 batches were found unqualified.
The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, AZO, vinyl chloride monomer content, heavy metal content analysis, other volatile matter content, seam strength, appearance, label, shock impact strength, accessories, zip durability, colorfastness to rubbing, durability of draw bar, caster durability, drop test, ball impact test – hard case, static load for hard case, zipper operability, locks, colorfastness to crocking, belt body tensile strength, belt hole tearing strength, belt buckle occlude strength, belt teeth occlude strength and face cracking test.
Primary failed items: shock impact strength, seam strength, AZO, belt buckle occlude strength, colorfastness to rubbing and label.
Apparel
The Guangzhou Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for apparel. The spot check inspected 179 batches of samples; 51 batches were found unqualified.
The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to dry rubbing, label, fiber content, colorfastness to wet rubbing, colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to dry cleaning, colorfastness to light, seam slippage, filling weight, down content, duck feather (down) content, oxygen number, cleanliness/turbidity, odor and microorganism.
Primary failed items: label, fiber content, colorfastness, seam slippage, filling weight, down content and duck feather (down) content.
Apparel, Leather Bags, Footwear and Home Textiles
The Administration of Quality and Technology supervision of Guangdong Province launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for apparel, leather bags, footwear and home textiles.
