Intertek offers dermal safety studies with a variety of standard methods to confirm the safety of your skincare products during and after development. Intertek 4-Front has a wealth of experience in safety evaluations.
Dermal Safety Study types include:
Primary Irritation studies
- 24, 48, 72 or 96-hour patch tests to screen for irritation potential.
- 14 or 21-day patch test to investigate potential irritation from chronic exposure.
- 100 or 200 subject patch test to investigate sensitisation (allergy) potential following repeated exposures & a challenge at a naïve site
- Screening test for irritancy and/or allergy potential following exposures to UV light
- Comedogenicity screening test for potential of a product to promote the formation of comedones (“blackheads”) following chronic exposure
- Benchmarking test for mild surfactant products, based on the Frosch & Kligman method
- Provides reassurance that products do not cause adverse reactions under normal use conditions.
- Products are applied around or directly into the eyes, under the supervision of Ophthalmologist.
- Provides reassurance that products do not cause adverse reactions, under most use conditions.
