Claim Check Verified
The Claim Check Verified Program, designed by Intertek and the Building Products Retailers Alliance (BPRA) for North American building product retailers and manufacturers, provides assurance that product claims are legitimate.
With an unprecedented variety of products flowing through the building products and materials supply chain from around the world, wholesalers and retailers cannot be sure that all claims made about materials and products they sell can be substantiated. Retailers have been hit hard by lawsuits over products unable to perform as claimed – some have even gone out of business. Manufacturers and retailers are under greater pressure to ensure products meet standards and have accurate test data to back up their claims. Aside from the legal liability, retailers need to have the ability to assure customers their product claims are supported.
The Claim Check Program provides proof, through product validation that products have been independently tested and verified to be consistent with the original product claims. The program offers a clear differentiation among competitors, substantiates marketing claims, and tests the product claims of others. In a world of unsubstantiated claims, product recalls and questions about a products origins and safety, the Claim Check Program lets your customers know a product has been evaluated and validated by an independent third-party laboratory.
Putting the Claim Check Verified Program to Work
The process for taking advantage of the ClaimCheck Program is straightforward. Manufacturers apply to Claim Check, send in their claim supporting documents to Claim Check Verification engineers. It can all be done online. Retailers can also request that Claim Check engineers inspect the manufacturer’s facility to verify that materials and processes used are consistent with the original validated product. Once validated by Intertek, the claims can be described in your advertising, point-of-purchase and on product packaging to differentiate the product from competitors. It also appears on the Claim Check website, so that discriminating buyers can see that you have taken this important step.
