Materials Analysis
Intertek operates dedicated and independent automotive materials testing and knowledge centers, offering expertise according to international, customer specific and OEM standards. Automotive materials tested include polymers, composites and metals. Laboratories hold ISO 17025 Certifications and Nadcap accreditation for AC7122/1, non-metallic and class A composite materials for the global aerospace and automotive industries.

Battery Testing
Through multiple laboratory centers of excellence in North America, Europe and Asia, Intertek provides a global testing solution, from thousands of individual cell test positions to multiple, large format (up to 420kW) electrical vehicle battery cyclers and more.

EMC Testing
Due to the continued growth of electronics being integrated into the vehicle, there are many more potential sources of electrical noise on-board the car. To effectively execute an EMC compliance plan, it is critical - prior to the initiation of EMC testing - that a test plan be assembled that has been documented, reviewed and accepted by all parties - the supplier, the OEM and the testing lab.

Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA Tests)
Depending on the complexity of the automotive component, product or system under test, a DFMEA can include hundreds or even thousands of individual tests –from a basic FMVSS flammability test to an elaborate key life investigation.

Systems Certification
There continues to be a very strong mandate from the OEMs to ensure that organizations within the supply chain implement and maintain the automotive quality management system requirements of ISO/TS 16949.
