Water that escapes from water distribution infrastructure causes billions of dollars in property damage every year. Intertek investigates water loss claims in industrial, commercial and domestic settings, and determines the root cause of the losses.

Water loss claims stem from leaks in water piping systems. Defective design and material, improper material selection, incorrect installation, corrosion (pinhole leaks), aggressive water (electrolytes, chlorine and chloramine), material overload and fatigue can all lead to piping system failure.

Our multidisciplinary Total Quality Assurance team of forensic engineering specialists is highly experienced in investigating water loss claims. They inspect the loss site, interview knowledgeable persons, and collect, examine and test the evidence.
