Meet Our People: Dr. Simon Allen

Dr Simon Allen Director

Simon obtained both his degree in Physics, and subsequent D.Phil at Oxford University. Since joining ICI in 1982, he has continually been involved in the characterisation of materials properties, with particular interests in optical and electrical properties.

After managing several different activities within the Group, Simon took on the leadership of MSG in 2005, seeing the team through the transition from ICI to Intertek in mid 2007.

Whilst currently focussed on the management of the Group, Simon maintains a technical interest in the optical and electrical properties areas, and has been involved in several UK forums on Measurement science, and in development of the Group's expertise in growing areas, including nanomaterials and the support of regulatory programmes such as REACh.
