Intertek provides corn inspection and testing services for corn cargo shipments. Trained inspectors and laboratory personnel measure corn quality and quantity per standards. Corn inspection services are availble at the loading and discharge ports. Intertek operates corn-quality testing laboratories equipped with modern technolgy along with a well-qualified and experienced team of inspectors.
Intertek works with major corn exporters, importers, international traders and buyers on a global basis. Intertek corn inspection services are available across the world in major markets and ports, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Mexico, Canada, the USA, India, Argentina, Australia and many other countries. Intertek provides daily update reports via e-mail. Once the corn cargo inspection and testing have finished, our clients receive the certification immediately.
Corn cargo inspection:
- General Inspection of Corn Cargo
- Check job assignment details:
Shipper, Commodities, Specification, Weight, Packing, Mark, Quantity, Vessel’s Name, Destination, Inspection date, last cargo shipped in holds, etc. - Visual inspection for live insects, poisonous seeds and husks (ex: caster-oil seeds)
- Corn quality check before loading
- Check for worms, insects, foreign matter
- Monitor Cargo Handling Protocols for Identity Preserved Corn
- Corn quality check by representative samples
- Digital photos are taken during the course of inspection
Sampling of corn cargo loadings:
- Sampling is taken by methods conforming to GAFTA 124
- The weigh scale is checked before packing with Standard Weight
- Pre-Loading samples are taken, packed and sealed before loading
- Loading samples and reference samples taken
- Lab Analysis samples are taken for physical and chemical analysis in the laboratory
- Composite sample mixing is taken for all samples of each day of loading
- Obtain representative probe samples from barges, trucks, and railcars
- Probe-A-Vac samples can be obtained from vessel cargo holds up to 75’-0” in depth
