Joined Intertek in 1994

Paul Yao became Consumer Goods Chief Executive and was appointed a member of the Executive management team on 1st July 2006. Prior to this, from January 2003, he was Vice President with responsibility for Consumer Goods in China and Taiwan. He joined Intertek in 1994 as the Senior Marketing Manager of Intertek Hong Kong, and was promoted to General Manager of Toys, Food & Hardlines Division in 1998.

Before joining Intertek, Mr. Yao worked in Regional Sales & Marketing in Hong Kong, Singapore and China for such companies as Hitachi Chemical, Brent Plc, SISIR Singapore.

Mr. Yao attended the University of Hong Kong, where he obtained a degree in Chemistry. He also holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK.

Mr. Yao is a member of the Technical Committee for Toy Safety in International Standards Organisation (ISO) and China.
